Dead but not gone
After so long of showing zero activity, I might as well explain myself to any stragglers still watching. Basically, my computer fried itself... again. And deleted not only my Photoshop suite, but also all of my unfinished works... again. The hard drive overheated and I lost everything. By the time I got a new computer, I just didn't have the motivation to do this anymore. Especially after my graphic design career hit a dead end, and I got a regular, full time job in retail. What's worse is by the time I was ready to get back into the art world I found out that Adobe decided to be a bunch of shameless wretches and remove all their sellable software, moving to a monthly transaction platform. Safe to say the universe has been giving me every reason NOT to come back. Which is a shame considering that I've enjoyed my time here. Even so, I've continued sketching on my own time. Though I do admit that the stuff I've made has been too "lewd" to submit here. But after a year of doing that

It's obvious enough that they're a good way to support fellow users and artists, helping them expand and recieve a more public presence, as well as increase their image's overall rank in the search engine.
But in a way they're also meant to be an easy access to the images that one finds the most beautiful, inspiring, etc.
Unfortunately most rarely ever glance at an image again after making the fav, usually only doing so with images that provide tutorials or something that can be used as inspiration. You'll usually even forget a great deal of images that you've faved in the past altogether. I actually re-discovered quite a bit the other day
